BEER BOTTLES STOLEN
Wharf Theft Costs £3. Theft of a dozen beer bottles, valued at 1/, from
a crate on McLaten Wharf, Port Adelaide yesterday, cost Carl Lauritz Bolling,
laborer, of Port Adelaide £3 in Port Adelaide Police Court today. The default
was imprisonment for two weeks.
Messrs. J. H. Richards and A. Gower were on the Bench. Inspector J. E. Noblet
prosecuted. Water Police Constable L. V. M. Lea said that he saw the defendant
take the bottles from the crate.
Bolling told the court that he was out of work, and wanted the money to
buy socks.
"We sympathise with you fellows who are out of work, but you must
learn to leave the property of others alone," commented Mr. Richards.
